Job Purpose:
- To ensure effective implementation of all HSE initiatives, policies and procedures of the company
- To oversee and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of employees, compliance with regulatory standards, and the prevention of accidents or incidents within the workplace.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures to create a safe work environment in compliance with local regulations and best of industrial standards and practices.
- Serve as a key member of the safety committee, collaborating with management and employees to address safety concerns,
implement improvements, and drive continuous safety performance at respective sections of Acids/Fertilizers/Mines. - Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and implement measures to
mitigate them. - Organize and conduct HSE training programs for employees to increase awareness of safety procedures and promote a culture of safety.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents or incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness in the event of emergencies such as fires, natural disasters, or chemical spills.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including incidents, inspections, training, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization by encouraging employee involvement, recognizing safety
achievements, and fostering open communication about safety issues. - Assist Site and Department Leadership with development of Process Safety related improvement activities.
- Prepare OPEX & CAPEX HSE budgets for the respective sections of Acids/Fertilizer divisions.

Education
- Degree / Diploma in Chemical/ Mechanical/Electrical/Safety
- PG Diploma in Industrial Safety and Hygiene
- Environmental Sciences (Degree/Masters)
Experience
9 – 12 years in large scale Phosphatic Fertilizer industry (Mainly Sulphuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid and Fertilizer plant)
