Job Purpose:
- To improve the reliability of fire prevention and protection systems available to all existing facilities at mines, acids & fertilizer plants including new projects.
- To ensure all installed fixed & portable firefighting equipment and systems operate at its best designed performance on demand.
- To continuously improve the firefighting capabilities of fire services and employees of the plants and facilities by imparting training and conducting mock drills.
- To ensure that fire & gas detection and alarm systems are functional.
- To design, organize and operate total fire brigade to deliver best performance in minimum time during firefighting, rescue, and other emergencies at the site
Core Responsibilities
- To complete all firefighting training schedules and mock drills for the fire crew, security staffs and employees of plants and facilities, as planned and scheduled.
- To complete all periodical servicing and maintenance of portable firefighting equipment and fixed firefighting systems as planned.
- To keep inventory of fire extinguishing mediums and spares of firefighting equipment and fixed systems.
- To ensure adequate PPEs availability for fire crew for handling emergencies
- To ensure the fire trucks and other mobile vehicles are operational all the time and maintained
- To coordinate with operation and maintenance employees of plants and buildings and facilitate them fire prevention standby
fireman duties and firefighting equipment. - Developing and executing Fire safety improvement plans in the workplace.
- Making and socializing fire procedures based on standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular field fire safety audits. Coordinating internal and external audits.
- Participate in any design change on Fire safety equipment and systems.
- Statutory compliance related to Fire services.
- Fire service Budget and monitoring
- Participate and provide guidance in fire incident investigation
- Functional authorities:
o Stop any risk job where adequate control measures are not in place.
o Recommending for disciplinary action on contractors and employees who violate company safety rules/procedures

Education
- Graduate in Fire Science, Operations & Safety from a
collage of repute - Fire Sub-Officers Course
Experience
- Min. 15 Years in Fire services of Fertilizers/Chemical Industry
Skills / Knowledge / Competencies
- Proficiency in fire prevention and fire protection systems in a large scale Industry.
- Proficiency in firefighting techniques and strategies during emergencies in major petrochemicals and Hydrocarbon plants.
- Proficiency in NFPA standards.
- Maintaining discipline and team building capabilities
- Inventory management
- Good Interpersonal & Leadership capabilities
- Good report/procedure writing and speaking English language along with good presentation skills.
- Deep knowledge of spreadsheet, database, PowerPoint, word processor (MS office)
